Asai Bangkok Chinatown is a modern boutique lifestyle hotel under the Dusit Thani Group.

Conveniently located in the heart of Bangkok Chinatown, this property offers spacious workspaces, comfortable rooms, a wellness zone and a chill out area.

It is built in 2020 and recently renovated, and is just a few minutes walk to Wat Mangkon MRT station, making this an attractive base to explore Bangkok.

There is another Asai hotel in Bangkok, situated in Silom. Please check out our review of Asai Bangkok Sathorn.

  • Location: 531 Charoen Krung Road, Pom Prap Sattru Phai, Bangkok, 10100

  • Amenities: Lounge area, bar, restaurant curated by local chefs, co-working rooms, fully equipped gym, retail shop selling local brands and products, and a botanical garden.

  • Room Features: Comfortable, clean, modern design with air conditioning, private bathroom, flat-screen TV, and free Wi-Fi.

  • Nearby Attractions: Yaowarat Street Food Market, Bangkok Art & Culture Center, Jim Thompson House, and Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

We stayed in a cosy intimate 20 sqm Comfy room. It was clean, new and comfortable, amazing value for the price, as we figured we would only need the room to sleep in for 6-8 hours a day and we could spend the savings on F&B, shopping and entertainment.

Breakfast - Jam Jam Restaurant:

A very wide spread and variety of continental, Western and Thai favourites, we loved the scrambled eggs, sausages and salad bar.

Dinner - Jam Jam Restaurant:

As we had a heavy breakfast at Jam Jam in the morning, we spent and optimized the day out sightseeing, skipping lunch and went back to the hotel hungry and just in time for dinner. There was a cocktail promotion at only THB 320++ per cocktail, and we just had to try the Election Special (Gin, Kaffir Lime, Lime Juice and Soda) which was highly recommended by the resident mixologist.

Jam Jam is a fusion blend of Thai and Chinese influences meticulously showcased in a menu crafted for communcal enjoyment,

We tried the Salted Egg Pumpkin (THB 140), Garden Salad with Yuze Dressing (THB 180), Charcoal Skewers Tasting Set (THB 320 - XO Salmon Belly, Shanghai Pork Belly, Scallion Chicken, Cuttlefish and Sea Salt Chicken Wings), Phad Thai Goong (THB 220), and a special seasonal E-Sarn Northeastern dish : E-Sarn Sample Platter (THB 240 - Sausage, Grilled Pork Neck and Grilled Larb Pork). We must say that every dish was spot on and perfectly executed. It was not too spicy and the flavours were well balanced and infused together.

Finally, a sweet treat to end off the evening - Mango Sago Pudding (THB 120 - Sago Pearls, Pandan Coconut Milk, Mango and Crushed Ice).

Overall Verdict:

Fantastic location, beautiful lobby and rooms, and awesome F&B offerings.

A big shoutout to Ket and Dream from the Front Office Team, and Mike from the F&B Team for their professionalism and customer service in taking good care of us. We will be back for sure, and Asai Chinatown has to rank as one of the best value hotels in Bangkok.
