On 27 September, acclaimed high-end professional sports apparel brand DESCENTE opened three stores in Singapore at the iconic Jewel Changi Airport, Raffles City and Laguna National Golf Resort Club. The new locations mark the latest stage in DESCENTE’s plans to expand throughout SEA. DESCENTE has tapped globally recognised talents as brand ambassadors, including alpine ski racer Marco Odermatt, triathlete Taylor Spivey, professional golfers Xander Schauffele and Danielle Kang, singer and dancer William Chan and actor Daniel Wu.

In conjunction with the store opening, the brand has unveiled a Brand Exhibition that details its history and offerings at the Raffles City L3 Atrium. The installation, shaped like an iceberg, embodies DESCENTE’s spirit of adventure and love of the outdoors. The exhibition is on till 31 October 2024.

Founded in 1935, DESCENTE (meaning ‘downhill skiing’ in French) is known for its rich ski heritage, advanced materials, and expert craftsmanship. Its current three-arrow Spirit Mark logo, adopted in 1968, symbolizes excellence in design and innovation. The brand has played a key role in major sporting events since its inception in 1953. Most recently, Xander Schauffele secured his first major championship victory at the 2024 PGA Championship while clad in DESCENTE golf attire.
Other pivotal moments in the brand’s history include outfitting American long track speed skater, road cyclist and track cyclist Eric Heiden in his legendary ‘Golden Suit’ for the 1980 Winter Olympics, where he took home an unprecedented five gold medals. DESCENTE has also provided uniforms for elite teams like the Swiss National Alpine Ski Team and the Canadian National Speed Skating Team at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
