(having tasted the food at Man Fu Yuan 3 times in the past 2 months, what truly resonates is their competency to ensure good consistency, superb taste, mindful innovation and culinary creation) - glad to say it's my fave Cantonese Restaurant in Singapore now, especially under the helm of Chef Aaron Tan, so the rating has been elevated accordingly!

As the auspicious Year of the Dragon approaches, Michelin-recommended Man Fu Yuan at InterContinental Singapore invites diners to indulge in a lavish Lunar New Year feast that promises to captivate senses and usher in good fortune. From 15 January to 29 February 2024, the elegant dining destination in the heart of the Bugis area in the city will celebrate the season with refined menus and a luxurious selection of Lunar New Year delights from Man Fu Yuan along with holiday-inspired à la carte and handcrafted cakes selection from The Lobby Lounge and an abundant Lunar New Year Sunday Champagne Buffet spread at LUCE by Davide Giacomelli (highly recommded!) The Banquet

MAN FU YUAN’S 60-INCH ‘DRAGON’S WEALTH’ YU SHENG

Upholding Man Fu Yuan’s tradition of welcoming the Lunar New Year with a 60-inch Yu Sheng, the show-stopping ‘Dragon’s Wealth’ Yu Sheng 龙飞凤舞喜捞生 ($888++ serves up to 10 guests) features a magnificent dragon head and tail that symbolises strength, power, health, and good luck for the New Year. Crafted with precision and adorned with luxurious ingredients including rock lobster, sea urchin, ikura, shredded dried Hokkaido scallops, salmon sashimi and crispy fish skin, completed with a dash refreshing honey miso golden peach dressing and shallot oil. Adding on to the fun element of a Yu Sheng, each ‘Dragon’s Wealth’ Yu Sheng comes with four lucky numbers for an auspicious new year ahead.


Aside from the grand ‘Dragon’s Wealth’ Yu Sheng, diners may also opt for Man Fu Yuan’s three other Yu Sheng selection - Prosperity Yu Sheng 瑞龙呈祥齐捞 ($188++ serves up to 10 guests, $128++ serves up to 5 guests) packed with premium ingredients such as the crispy shredded dried Hokkaido scallops, rock lobster, ikura, salmon sashimi, crispy fish skin topped with the new honey miso golden peach dressing; or Abundance Yu Sheng 合家齐捞起 ($138++ serves up to 10 guests, $98++ serves up to 5 guests) with salmon sashimi, ikura, crispy fish skin topped with honey miso golden peach dressing. Vegetarians may delight in the Happiness Vegetarian Yu Sheng 德高望众斋鱼生捞起 ($118++ serves up to 10 guests, $88++ serves up to 5 guests).

PROSPERITY PRIX-FIXE MENUS AND SIGNATURE ALA CARTE DISHES

Upholding the tradition of masterfully created dishes at Man Fu Yuan, Executive Chinese Chef Aaron Tan and his team have put together a bevy of specialty dishes steeped in auspiciousness. With a selection of eight different set menus, diners can be assured of a suitable option, whether for an intimate dining for two persons, or an extravagant gathering for ten or more persons.


For a fuss-free menu catering to big groups, the five-course Blissfulness Prix-Fixe Menu 幸福满满 priced at $888++ for five guests features a grand display of Man Fu Yuan’s signatures including the Man Fu Yuan Abundance Treasure Pot 龙腾虎跃金汤盆菜, brimming with over 18 premium ingredients such as the five-head whole abalone, rock lobster, premium sea cucumber, tiger palm mushroom, dried whole scallop, South Africa fish maw and dace fish ball. Conclude the meal with the all-time favourite - Chilled Pumpkin Purée, Logan, Lotus Seed and Peach Collagen with Sweet Golden Nian Gao.


The lavish seven-course Harvest Prix-Fixe Menu 六六大顺 is one extravagant feast to please. Priced at $1,498++ for 5 guests, the menu features top-notch quality ingredients. Be blown away by the array of curated dishes including the Double-boiled Collagen Soup with Sakura Chicken, Premium Fish Maw, Premium Yellow Jade Sea Cucumber, Brazil Mushroom, Cordyceps Flower served in Coconut Husk, Steamed Atlantic Cod Fish Fillet and Smoked Roasted Irish duck with Wild Mushroom and Truffle Sauce. The celebration continues with perennial à la carte favourites, including premium roasts such as the Roasted Suckling Pig with Five Grain Glutinous Rice 全体腊味五谷糯米猪 ($528++), Trio Roast Platter 三拼盘 ($68++) consisting of honey-glazed Duroc pork belly char siew; roasted Duroc pork belly and braised sakura chicken, soya sauce and rose dew wine, as well as the Tea-infused Roasted Irish Duck with Wild Mushroom and Truffle Sauce 茶熏烤爱尔兰鸭伴松露酱 ($128++, whole duck).

We sampled the bevy of tasty and delicious complement of this opulent and lavish feast and were truly treated like the kings and emperors of yesteryear.. a solid banquet!


龙飞凤舞喜捞生

The yusheng tossing was immaculate.. Known as the The Dragon's Wealth Yu Sheng (Limited Edition), it's ingredients comprise of Abalone, Rock lobster (5 pieces), Sea Urchin, Ikura, Crispy Shredded Hokkaido Dried Scallops, Tiger Palm Mushroom, Salmon Sashimi, Crispy Fish Skin, Honey Miso Golden Peach Yu Sheng Sauce, Shallot Oil - super amazing, super huge! we love it! - Available for dine in only at $888


龙腾虎跃金汤盆菜

The ingredients from the 盆菜 (pen cai or poon choi in Cantonese) were super fresh and so tasty.. It's called the Man Fu Yuan Abundance Treasure Pot and comprise of Rock lobster, Tiger Palm Mushroom. Premium Sea cucumber, 6-head Whole Abalone, Hokkaido Dried Scallop. Live Prawns, South Africa Fish Maw, Goose Web, Pig Trotters, Dace Fish Balls, Dried Oysters, Chicken Wings, Kurobuta Pork Sausages, Liver Sausage, Braised Bean Curd Skin, Japanese Premium Flower Mushroom. White Cabbage, Fried Yam, Black Moss - Available for dine-in and takeaway at $498 - the full works!


时有盈余 - 香酥好菜头蒸鳕鱼

Prosperity Steamed Cod Fish was next on my table... Steamed Atlantic Cod Fish Fillet nicely steamd with Crispy Preserved Radish, Superior Soya Sauce & Scallions - Available on the Renuion & Harvest Set Menu - the cod fish is always amazing (I have eaten this 3 times at Man Fu Yuan, and each time a consistently good taste - familiar, comforting and delicious - I rate their codfish preparation an amazing 9.5/10 (I have never given such a rating before)


金龙耀门 - 芝士奶皇焗龙虾

The Fortune Oven-baked Lobster consist of an Oven-baked Lobster with Golden Butter Sauce and Cheese and is available for dine-in at $55 -the lobster scrumptious with a dash of cheese, but the prepared sauce goes so well with it and the texture was not well done (otherwise, it will be too tough to bite) so that we can have a nice sashimi-like feel to the crunch - delicious! and I love the lobster cooked in this manner..


红红火火 - 大红川式辣子烧鸡

When we tried the Lunar Bliss Sichuan Style Chicken - it was truly something different - and pretty trendy in most restaurants in Singapore now - bold and spicy, a lovely Sichuan Style Roasted Chicken with Dried Chilli, Sesame Seed, Peanut, Sichuan Spice and Scallion - Available for dine-in and takeaway at $78


Rock Lobster Pork Mabo Tofu - 龙虾肉麻婆豆腐

There was a bonus dish that was not in the menu, specially prepared by Chef Aaron, a fiery looking Rock Lobster Pork Mabo Tofu, so yummy and can go with a simple bowl of white fluffy rice..


大红大紫 - 全体腊味五谷糯米猪

We moved on to another Man Fu Yuan highlight - the Signature Roasted Suckling Pig; as signatory as it's name, te Roasted Suckling Pig with Five-Grain Glutinous Rice is available for dine-in and takeaway at $78 - the amazing roasted sucking piglet, tender and nicely presented with glutinous rice (another amazing 9.5/10 rating as I have eaten this twice in a week, so I can attest to the grandeur and beautiful taste of this dish), nicely synergised between meat and rice, for good effect..


甜蜜永久 - 香滑金瓜露伴桂圆,莲子,金丝燕窝,椰丝金元宝年糕

Our dessert was the Harmony Chilled Pumpking Puree - a Chilled Pumpkin Puree that came oozing with a nice display and filled with Longan, Lotus Seeds, Golden Bird's Nest, Golden Sweet Nian - available on all Prix-fixe menus except for the Vegetarian Menu -

I love my dessert this way....the dessert was comforting and a good end to the entire feast, as we were already too full at this point in time, but still have a very small space left to squeeze in those amazing CNY cookies and tarts! what a delight!
