ONE15 CHRISTMAS BOAT LIGHT PARADE™ ENTERS THE SINGAPORE BOOK OF RECORDS FOR THE ‘LARGEST PARADE OF DECORATED BOATS’ & BRINGS FESTIVE CHEER TO KIDNEY PATIENTS
Singapore, 30 November 2016 – A flotilla of 20 yachts entered the Singapore Book of Records for the Largest Parade of Decorated Boats on Saturday, 26 November 2016 at ONE15 Christmas Boat Light Parade™. A group of NKF patients and their caregivers as well as boy scouts were invited to join in the fun as part of ONE°15 Marina’s community outreach to bring festive cheer to the patients.
The spectacular parade of yachts set sail from ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove to Harbourfront Cruise Bay where they were assessed by a panel of judges including Mr. Chin Sak Hin, Assistant CEO of Sentosa Development Corporation, Mr. Jimmy Toh, General Manager of Carlsberg Singapore, Mr. Jeremy Hauw, General Manager of Tuck Lee Ice, and Mr. David Sim, Director of Swift Integrated Marine Services.
Boats were judged on a set of six criteria such as creativity, complexity of lighting, prominence of the festive theme, overall presentation of lights, as well as crowd engagement and crew participation.
Passing by iconic locations including Siloso Beach and Resorts World Sentosa, the boats were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd that had packed the viewing decks of VivoCity where they cheered and waved wildly as the boats cruised into the bay.
After an hour of intense competition, the winners were announced at the prize ceremony held at ONE°15 Marina. The grand award of the night—Best of Show—went to Island, a 62 feet powerboat that won a 45-hour boat polishing service worth $3500, cash of $3000, and berthing credits at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove worth $1000. Ten other boats of varying sizes that won first and second prizes walked home with cash totaling $15,000, berthing credits totaling $3,750, deluxe wine samplers, boat polishing services and more.
In conjunction with ONE15 Christmas Boat Light Parade™, a party was held at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove where attendees were treated to a sumptuous dinner buffet, all night free-flow beer, entertainment by guest DJs Jade Rasif and Tinc, a fire artist, a roving magician, LED lights stilt walkers, glow-in-the-dark face painting and a holiday market organized by Sentosa Cove Resort Management featuring 30 stalls with uniquely curated artisanal products.
The power packed evening ended on a high note with a lucky draw featuring attractive prizes such as Maserati and Ferrari merchandise, Sony sound systems, a luxurious stay at ONE°15 Marina’s Monte Carlo suite as well as dining vouchers at LATITUDE Bistro and WOK°15 Kitchen.
