Seafood Expo Asia Opens with the Largest International Representation of Exhibitors

The exhibit hall will feature seafood, processing equipment and service companies from 46 countries presenting their latest offerings and innovations to seafood buyers from across Asia. Seafood professionals can learn about timely topics and trends during a series of expert-led conference sessions, discover new products in the Asian market at the Product Showcase and engage in several events including the Oyster Challenge, Young Chef Challenge and more.



Seafood Expo Asia, organized by Diversified Communications, opens its doors tomorrow on 4th September 2024, with the largest international representation of seafood and processing equipment exhibitors from 46 countries. The 12th edition, taking place from 4-6 September at Sands Expo Convention Centre in Singapore, provides a platform for seafood professionals to discover the latest products and innovations, learn about timely topics and trends and build key relationships in the Asian marketplace.



“The increase in representation of exhibitors from around the world at this year’s event demonstrates the significant impact of the Asian market on the seafood industry,” said Wynter Courmont, Vice President of Seafood at Diversified Communications. “Seafood Expo Asia allows participating companies to expand within the Asian market by building key relationships across the seafood supply chain. Over the next three days, there will be numerous networking opportunities, expert-led conference sessions, and engaging events for seafood professionals to deepen their understanding of the Asian market.”



New to this year’s Expo will be country participation from Azerbaijan, Brazil, Denmark, Morocco, New Caledonia, Qatar, Scotland, Sri Lanka and Venezuela and new regional/national pavilions from Japan, Morocco and Saudi Arabia. Other countries participating will include Australia, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Mauritius, Netherlands, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and more.



The exhibit floor will feature seafood companies highlighting their latest seafood offerings and best practices in sustainability and aquaculture. Seafood companies represented at this year’s Expo include AquaChile, Arakou Fishery LTD., AquaPri A/S, Blumar Seafoods, Caleta Bay Mar SpA, Coast Seafood AS, Cultimer, Ferme Marine de Mahebourg Ltd, Geraldton Fishermen’s Co-op, Hofseth International AS, Marennes Oleron Oysters, I.D.I. Corporation, Loch Duart Salmon, Nordic Kingfish A/S, Seaborn A/S, Sjor AS, South African Farmed Abalone Export Council, The Pirates Co., Ltd., The Seafood Company Pte Ltd., Vinh Hoan Corporation, Zalmhuys Group and more.



Companies showcasing their aquaculture technologies, state-of-the-art processing equipment and service solutions will include Alpha Aqua A/S, Baader Asia PTE., D&D Electronics, Co., Ltd, FrostiX Co., Ltd., GUNZE LIMITED, Jaw Feng Machinery Co., Ltd and more.

Seafood professionals and decision-makers from industries including airlines, cruise lines, distributors, caterers, hotels, importers, processors, restaurants, supermarkets, wholesalers and more will attend the event searching for new suppliers, products and trends. Participating companies at this year’s Expo include Big C Supercenter Co., Ltd, Central Food Wholesales Ltd., CJ Freshway, EB Services Company Limited, Emart, ITM Alimentaire International, Japanese Consumers’ Co-operative Union, Royal Seafood International Trading Company Limited, SMSI/ Sysco, Trendcell Sdn Bhd (Jaya Grocer), Yonghui Superstores and more.



Alongside the exhibit hall, an educational conference program will delve into timely topics and discussions led by experts from across the industry. Topics will include seafood traceability, cell-cultured seafood, Latin America’s role in the Asian seafood market, sustainable seafood supply chains in Southeast Asia, sustainable seafood consumption in Asia and more. Included in the program is an investor panel featuring six entrepreneurs from startups across Asia. The startups will present their innovations in aquaculture, sustainability and the seafood supply chain with solutions in shrimp farming technology, upcycling aquafeed ingredients, novel diagnostics, seaweed aggregators and more.



Special events on the exhibit floor will engage attendees in educational sessions, networking opportunities and competitive activities. Day one and day two of the Expo will include the Young Chef Challenge, where young professional chefs under the age of 25 will compete in various onsite challenges for a panel of judges. Other onsite events will include the Oyster Challenge, a three-round competition where chefs will shuck oysters and creatively pair them with the best sauces, and the Seafood Excellence Asia awards competition, where a live panel of judges will taste and score products to determine the best new seafood products at the Expo. The Seafood Party will be hosted on day one in the Demo Theatre for exhibitors, key buyers and invited guests to network with industry peers and celebrate the Seafood Excellence Asia award winners.



Seafood Expo Asia is a trade event where buyers from across Asia and industry suppliers from around the world come together to network and conduct business in the lucrative Asian market.
